GULF CRAFT NOMAD 101 YACHT

Phathom Studio collaborated with Gulf Craft to redesign of their popular Nomad 95 model. The goal was to incorporate an additional sun deck, effectively creating a 4th level of outdoor space for the yacht’s discerning clientele. A particular challenge was to accomplish this without making significant modifications to the existing FRP (Fiber Reinforced Plastic) tooling used in the manufacturing process. By leveraging Phathom’s expertise in yachting design, Gulf Craft successfully achieved their objective, enhancing the luxury and comfort of the Nomad 95 yacht while maintaining production efficiency.

During the undergoing a revitalization process we aimed at incorporating legitimately sustainable and natural materials into its interior design. Our expert team has been sought after to transform the space into a sustainable oasis, combining aesthetics with environmental consciousness. By utilizing sustainable materials, we aim to minimize the ecological footprint while creating a visually captivating environment. These choices not only enhance the overall aesthetics of the Nomad 95 but also contribute to the preservation of our planet.

With the revitalization of the Nomad 95 interior, we envision a space that not only captivates the eye but also inspires and connects individuals to the beauty and importance of sustainable living. Together, we can create a brighter and greener future.

The application of sustainable materials were critical to this client’s design brief where selection was based on a rigorous examination of each product’s life cycle: their ecological/sociological impacts as well circular economic potential.

Material finishes then had to be selected based on their quality and integrity of finish to meet the discerning yet practical standards of a yacht’s interior.

The first hull of the Nomad 101 features the “Serene” interior trim that imbues a sense of calmness and serenity with its play on delicate tones and textures.

The sustainable design approach with its eco-conscious materials and thoughtful choices has a wall paneling crafted from natural and renewable fibers such as flax plant or hemp, adding a touch of organic beauty. To ensure a cruelty-free environment, bio-based vegan leather is used for the soft upholstery, providing comfort while staying true to sustainable principles. Other surfaces are elegantly wrapped in rattan, produced using remnants from the cotton industry, making it a sustainable and environmentally friendly choice. The incorporation of recycled materials is another highlight, as the hard surfaces are created using composite stone made from a blend of recycled plastic bottles and quartz. Remarkably, each square meter of this composite stone helps to rescue and repurpose approximately 100 PET bottles from our oceans.
